 HMS Daring - Captain's Burr Oak Veneered Occasional Table

This occasional table was commissioned by the Captain of HMS Daring, to compliment the main table that I made for the ship in early 2009.

The table top is a similar shape to it's bigger brother. However the legs are different, yet empathetic, to the shape and construction of the pedestals found on the main table.

The materials used are again burr oak veneer for the top, with solid oak lippings and ebony stringing inlay. Solid oak laminations are used for the pedestals. There is also a marquetry HMS Daring crest laid into centre of the table top.
